A little preparation goes a long way when converting raster images to SVG. Follow these tips for the best results.
1. Clean Up the Background
Remove solid backgrounds before converting. VTracer will trace background shapes too, adding unnecessary complexity to your SVG.
2. Use Adequate Resolution
Images should be at least 500px on the longest side. Lower resolution means less detail for VTracer to work with. Our tool auto-resizes images over 2000px.
3. Reduce JPEG Artifacts
JPEG compression creates color noise that VTracer will trace as separate regions. Use PNG when possible for cleaner edges.
4. Increase Contrast
High contrast between foreground and background helps VTracer produce cleaner, more accurate paths.
